My Pregnant Pause(.)

This is our beautiful hiatus;
A harbinger of change to prepare us
with instincts maternal and paternal
for everything new and unconditional
that we are to shower, from now on forever.

This is our little pause, pregnant with life anew.

To my little one inside,
There is only a wall of skin that now stands between you and me. From behind this wall that helps keep you cosy and snug, I feel every twitch and kick of yours kindle my maternal instincts. Making me almost wonder if this is what they mean by 'butterflies in my stomach'. I enjoy your little somersaults that take me by surprise every now and then; that you do just to let me know its time for food. I'm in no hurry to see you, I know I will when time is ripe. All I want is to enjoy these moments (rather months) few when they are here right now with me.
