I was up at 5.45 today. Interesting because I did not have anywhere to go and nobody was asking me to get up that early. I just woke up to go to the loo and my eyes were wide open as opposed to how they usually are when i wake up still later into the morning; eyelids like big fat iron curtains and eyelashes like those fans they used for Indian kings (the ones right behind the throne!!).
I washed all the boxes that we bought last evening and made tea for both of us. In about half an hour's time, thanks to all the noise I made in the kitchen, Kumar woke up too. After we had our morning tea, we walked towards the window to see the first traces of sunlight paint the sky and in my mind I was thinking, 'it would be wonderful to take a walk this instant'. I hardly completed my sentence when I heard Kumar say, 'Hey, why don't we go out for a walk!!'
And so we did. We walked towards Batok Nature reserve which had a slight slope upwards and I went panting all the way up. It was a good hour walk in the morning and we saw interesting old men and women keeping their bodies fit walking and excercising. We also saw this woman, who was walking with her handbag!! Duh!! Yeah it sure takes all kinds of them!!
A good beginning. A wonderful day. Sitting this evening.
